You can spend your holiday doing boat trips to the river or fishing, hiking by the trails in the forests close by, lying at the beach and barbecuing, going to sauna and swimming. The area offers many activities all year round. The excellent location of the cabins also makes them popular as a accommondation for work teams.

Organic farm

The organic farm of Pitkänen is located in the municipality of Kontiolahti in North Karelia. The farm has switched to organic farming in the beginning of 90's. Currently there is about 9 hectares of organic black currant and one hectare of organic red currant. There is also organic grain, hay and strawberry within the farm.

At the same time with the shift to organic farming, the holiday cabin rental and a tourist farm was introduced, and they later grew to be a significant part of the Pitkänen farm. Cabin visitors are welcome to discover the organic farm and its products.

The farm has over ten years of experience in organic farming of currants in the clean nature of North Karelia. A collection machine is mainly used for collection the berries to allow quick collection, packing and transfer to the cold store. Self-picking is also possible.
